Disgusting Media Bias Airs Vicious Palin Rumor and Attacks a Seventeen-Year-Old Girl in Culture War

I have offered ubiquitous illustrations of the media bias about issues that we discuss here at SHS. That bias reflects a broader culture war that is roiling our society to the point of rending--which, as I said yesterday, is vividly reflected in the real choice America has in this presidential election.

But the media isn't content to report and let the people decide. They have a horse in this race and they are going to do whatever it takes to make sure it wins. How else explain the feeding frenzy of the media about Bristol Palin's pregnancy, in which many reports managed to work in the outrageous Internet defamation that Governor Sarah Palin only pretended to have Trig, when it was actually Bristol who gave birth.

Time to Kabosh that nonesense once and for all.

The picture above, which I am sickened to post, is of Bristol at the McCain announcement of his choice for VP a few days ago. Clearly, she is at least 5 months pregnant, making the vile rumor biologically impossible since Trig was born 4 months ago.

Hit this link and see a video of Governor Sarah Palin in a local booster TV show that aired in late February, about two months before Trig was born one month premature. She's is clearly pregnant, given her body shape and the baggy clothing she is wearing.
And the picture to the right of the governor being interviewed, clearly pregnant. Contrast her looks there, with the svelte look above. Just like the transition made when a pregnant woman gets back in shape after giving birth.

But killing the vicious, baseless lie won't stop the press. It is now, apparently, open season on a teenager--three page one stories in the NYT--going through a very tough time. Because you see, the Palins represent cultural values that the MSM loathe and are adored by people they hate and regard as mere rubes. And so there is nothing low enough in the cause of destroying the enemy.

Beyond disgusting. Obama is right: Leave the family out of it. But the media won't. They are at war with those they believe impede the cause of modernity and the advance of progressive politics--which is also why they commit so much journalistic malpractice around the topics of assisted suicide, human cloning, Terri Schiavo, and others. This is rare for me, but I am grasping for the words to express my absolute disgust.

I think they genuinely believe in a double standard. The things Bill Clinton did (himself, not a member of his family) were said to be "private," but this is somehow public fare. I think if pressed, liberals who are doing this would say that it's okay for someone who doesn't even claim to stand for traditional morality to, er, behave that way with an intern in the Oval Office, but that if a teenage girl who is in the family of a conservative political candidate gets pregnant with her boyfriend before marriage, this somehow just "is" or "shows" the "hypocrisy" of the Religious Right. So it's fair game for every sort of vicious talk. They might not admit that that is how they think, but I think that is really what goes on in their minds.

They hate that the Palins practice what they preach. Had Bristol gone out and aborted, they'd be praising HER to the skies for her "maturity" and "independence", and "praying" that her mom and the Republicans catch on to how "necessary" abortion is.

They just can't stand when somebody chooses life in difficult circumstances. It drives them blind with rage.

I agree with the post, but I think it expresses expectations that are too high for the MSM. The media bias is disgusting, but there's nothing unexpected about it. It's their DNA. They can't help it. I hate that it's happening to Bristol Palin. I hope it will expose these gutter nihilists for what they are to more Americans. Hopefully the support of a large part of our nation will help this young woman through the media's shameful making sport of this young lady.

I believe Sarah Palin (rightfully) will come out of this with great public support, and her daughter (maybe less rightfully) will also.

However, if anyone thinks they're going to hear a peep out of her during a McCain presidency I think they'll be disappointed. He's not much on sharing with subordinates as far as I've seen.

Don: But this is beyond the pale. Utterly. Frankly, it reflects a corruption that is like a cancer.

Wesley: I have to hope that you are right about this. I am definitely guilty of the bigotry of soft expectations for the media. I sure didn't mean to say we shouldn't have posts like this. I thought it was excellent and that we need more expressions of outrage like this. I hope you are right and that there are still some accepted standards of decency in the media. I guess we should at least act like we have those expectations of them.

Today's real political pundits who actually report on political maneuvers are back page or middle of the paper, folk. The ruthless political hacks out to destroy one group or the other with smear campaigns make the front pages. The editors and managers of such papers and the political bloggers will hide behind free speech that can offer opinions or outright lies as if they were facts. Today's free press is being destroyed by such deceivers.

Unfortunately those that would destroy the political aspirations of such a person as Palin , could care less that they might destroy a 17 year old girl to. I was on a topix forum earlier, where one nut job was even suggesting Bristol's child was her fathers which might change Palin's stance on pro choice. How sick is that???

One more thing about the judges that are trying to destroy Palin with bias material that is rather shady. Many of journalists, have broken every ethical & moral code that exists, including adultery. Yet they feign national shame because a Vice Presidential Candidate could lose on the stroke of a pen that built a lie to gain a bias goal of the journalist. They feign reproach because it suits their political preferences as they trip off to the bank with their ill gotten paychecks.

Yup, I am disgusted with this type of journalism and only wish my disgust would register with the editors and managers of the FREE PRESS.

Disgusting Media Bias?

Depending on which poll you read, somewhere between 10 percent and 15 percent of American voters still think Obama is a Muslim. A Newsweek poll found that 26 percent thought he was raised as a Muslim (untrue), and 39 percent thought he grew up going to an Islamic school in Indonesia (also untrue).

Now which wing of the media do you think is perpetuating these patent falsehoods? Or do the ends justify the means when it comes to defeating liberal politicians?

Since when did SHS become a political blog?

Strange development about Trig now. Because he is a part of Palin's family and was seen on International TV being passed to Cindy McCain as Palins husband rose from his seat to take a bow, the political hacks are claiming they are using the child as a political tool. If they left the child home they would tar her for really being ashamed of her children. Being the son of a Politician I was always proud to be included in his Political ventures even as a youth of about five years of age. These writers have no understanding of just how proud children such as myself are of their parents and how demonic it is to destroy the family to get at the politician. Family should be included in the political arena showing support for their members seeking political office. That inclusion should be viewed as family support and not as a whipping post for the type of hype they are throwing at Sarah Palin and her husband.
