Howard Kurtz Says Media "Getting Angry"
Howard Kurtz, who has the media beat for the Washington Post (and who I know; nice guy), says the media are getting angry about the McCain/Palin campaign. "Getting?" He says it is because the rucus made about pigs and lipstick. Baloney. As I have noted here at SHS, I think they have been over the moon since day one of A.P (after Palin)!
I think there are two primary reasons for this, one of which we have explored thoroughly, and one which is mostly beyond our scope here. First, Palin is viewed as "the other," symbolized by her and Todd's loving acceptance of Trig, a matter we have discussed at length. Second, she is clearly helping the McCain campaign, and I think it is fair to say most MSM are liberals who want Senator Obama to become President Obama. I'll leave the discussions of that aspect to others.
Media bias is media bias, and I think most reporters try to work their way around their own views on most issues. What is wrong is when media cease to be reporters and essentially become campaigners for one side or the other. Then bias becomes unprofessional--as in the embryonic stem cell debate.
This much I have no doubt about: The MSM wants to destroy Palin: For you Doctor Who fans, they remind me of Daleks: "Exterminate! Exterminate! EXTERMINATE!"
Labels: Sarah Palin. Media Bias.

I didn't know you were a Dr. Who fan. I watched it every day when I when I came home from Jr. high on PBS. This was during the Tom Baker years.
When I was in college my roommate studied journalism. I used to joke that the classes ran from the freshman "Introduction to Watergate" to the "Senior Watergate Seminar." The message really was to comfort the afflicted/afflict the comfortable (which is a good thing, except insofar as the definition of "afflicted" has changed with the times.
The comfortable remain easy to spot and will always be with us ...

That's just a honey-bucket full of conspiracy-theory paranoia.
I can't speak for EVERYONE who is disgusted and/ or repulsed by Palin, but her child Trig isn't a reason.
For instance, what do the late-night comedians make fun of? They target her experience, the double-standards of hell the Repubs put Hillary through, her moose shooting, her lack of knowledge on the "Bush Doctrine," etc.....
I get the same from my friends who don't like her. It's answers to the Bush Doctrine, her ideas that the Iraq War is "God's plan," etc... that set them off.
This idea of that Trig is somehow the reason for the grand media hitjob, is in a nutshell....ridiculous paranoia. And if it keeps up, I will probably just delete this blog off my bookmarks entirely.
I don't waste my time with conspiracy theories.
Other Doctor Who fans will get this as well:
Doesn't Obama come across like Harold Saxon? He emerged suddenly, full-blown, and nobody seems to have known him back in the olden days.
And his supporters, when asked why they support him, sound like Martha and Captain Jack explaining Harold Saxon's appeal.
