The pending success of the GAP has freaked me out. I have done radio and have articles to come. You know what I think, now it is time to find out what you think. Please take the following poll:

This is the the craziest thing I have ever heard. Making apes equal to man. Would these instigators of this movement like their sons or daughters to marry apes? If they give them rights then what is to stop them?

If they cannot be involuntarily contained does that mean that the zoos have to release them to walk amongst us? It is just to silly for words.

Thanks Patricia: The advocates want them considered the equivalent of children.

Peter Singer once actually supported bestiality as merely two animals rubbing body parts.

Gee, wouldn't this poll be more accurate if we allowed apes to vote, or do they have their own poll somewhere else on the internet?

I believe the fact that since most humans have duties; all humans should have rights. The duties that humans have to other humans and animals well make up for the humans who don't have the capacity. I believe ALL humans should enjoy basic rights because I don't believe in discrimination for ANY reason. Does this include animals? Well, no. No animal has any duties to any animal or human and that's OK. I like the system we have in place. I won't hold it to a lion for violating a gazelle's "supposed rights" for no necessary reason because the gazelle nor lion has any rights. However, I will hold it to a human for killing a gazelle for no necessary reason because we humans are better than that and we humans can understand (most of us) that killing animals for no reason is wrong. I don't care how close genetically apes are to us; NOT ape can play the role of moral agent. And I don't hold that against apes either.
