Scientists Using Fish and Insects to Boost Security--PETA Will be Outraged

Scientists are using bluegill fish to screen water for toxins and are developing methods by which bees and cockroaches will help with airline security. As I often say, never under estimate the imagination and abilities of scientists.

Just don't tell PETA. It thinks fish should not be kept in tanks. It has also protested cruelty to cockroaches, and has called the brood of insects, "children."

Hmm.... I call the young cows "babies" but I also call the 12 year old cat at my folks' place "kitten".

How about we call it even when they start calling all humans under the age of about three babies? (To include minus five months)

(I'm not holding my breath.)

I do think that it's just bloody cool the stuff folks are coming up with.

Maybe the bees can be trained to exclusively attack vegans ?

I'll have you know that my old fantasy baseball team used to be called "Las Cucarachas," and my fantasy football team is the "Vegan Uprising." Maybe las cucarachas will begin getting their overdue props.

Here in the Washington, the navy wants to use dolphins and sea lions to patrol Kitsap.

Some ladies are so outraged that they're knitting sweaters for them.

I meant to add, when they tried to do this 20 years ago, PETA & co objected because those animals would not be able to handle such cold waters. Since then, they took them to Alaska and Scandinavia and they did perfectly fine, proving PETA wrong (of course).
