Optimistic Update on Robert Schindler's Condition

Bobby Schindler reports some good news about his father: Bob has fully stabilized and he is being transferred today from the hospital to a rehabilitation center. Bob experienced no cognitive deficiencies from his strokes, but does need to work on regaining full physicality. The doctors are optimistic that he will do well.

Bobby wants everyone to know how much it has meant that so many people have sent cards and e-mails wishing Bob the best. They have made a real difference and lifted Bob's spirits tremendously. "Our family really appreciates the support and prayers we have received," Bobby told me. "It has all been very touching."

Bob still has a tough row to hoe, so keep those cards and letters coming. You can write a note of support to:

Wesley, do you have an e-mail address to which good wishes can be sent? Should we just find a contact e-mail on the Foundation web site for that purpose?

I believe the Foundation e-mail is fine.

Darn - it sure would be nice if he went into a coma and they had to decide between forcing him to live in a vegetative state or to keep him alive like the hell they put their daughter through.

gopinsider: Ah, the voice of compassion. In an earlier post about Bob, I wrote: "Regardless of where one stands on the Terri Schiavo case, the Schindlers--Bob, Mary, Bobby, and Suzanne Vitadamo--deserve our best wishes and, for those of a mind, prayers, toward Bob's complete recovery and the family's well being in this difficult time."

I guess you disagree. It speaks volumes.
