PETA is Bad For Your Health

PETA and Cancer Research

Center for Consumer Freedom, an industry supported non profit, has this truthful ad up that skewers the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) for impeding cancer and other medical research. The fact is we need to use animals in research. Period. It is part of ethical science. Those who would impede the research, do so at your peril.

I'd be cautious here about using the exact same arguments in favor of animal-based research that the ESCR and cloning enthusiasts make about unborn-human-animal-based research.

The big difference, in my view, is that one area involves human life and the other doesn't. This, of course, doesn't mean that we should not demand the highest standards of humane care for animals in research, an issue about which we should never be complacent.
