Adult Cells Treat Incontinence
The use of cellular treatments for human ailments is growing. In this treatment, muscle tissue from the arm was used as an effective treatment for incontinence. And, since the tissues are biocompatable with the patient--being the patient's own cells--no problems with rejection that could occur with embryonic stem cell treatments and no need to clone. Very important...
You see, one reason that the elderly are placed into nursing homes is because they are incontinent.
However, I would like to see the full report...sounds like they used muscles to tighten the sphincter so you didn't leak...and this is NOT a treatment for the more important group of those with neurogenic bladders...
I think your point about incontinence and nursing homes is really important. If people can be cared for in less intensive environments they will be much happier and the cost to the health care system will be reduced significantly--particularly since Boomers (like me) are beginning to feel Father Age's approach.
