Bestiality and the Varied Attacks on Human Exceptionalism

Laws against bestiality shouldn't be controversial. But in Washington State, some oppose making it against the law to have sex with animals. Meanwhile, promoters of the legislation are failing to make the most important argument of all: Sex with animals unacceptably subverts standards of basic human dignity and is an affront to humankind's inestimable importance and intrinsic moral worth. I expand more fully on this point in the Daily Standard.

It is a paradox. They recognize that only humans are moral agents in the world. Yet, they say we are just another animal in the forest.

It is evidence that the ideas of PETA are bankrupt. In order to come up with this way of thinking they have to abandon all belief in the Creator. In this way they do not have to acknowledge that man is given dominion over the animal kingdom.

However, the thought processes of the bankrupt types such as Peter Singer go a lot further in showing how humanity continues to sink in the mire of selfishness. By raising animals above humans, PETA adherents have created their own pagan religion that places the animal world above everything else. They are behaving like the ancient Egyptians who refused to eat meat because they treated animals, including frogs as though they were gods. This is why PETA has lost perspective about the role of man and animal in this world. That is why they continue to sound rather silly.
